Zoli Gergely’s original idea can be improved in many different directions. For me the most appealing part of the story was the character of the lady working in the bank, who, when charged by the armed bank robber to go backwards as hostage, says no.
First idea, not yet a synopsis, is a short film. As regards to the genre it is a burlesque-like comedy.
Hajnalka is a lonely, single woman who was left by her last boyfriend Tibor several years ago. Hajnalka works in a bank and her job doesn’t gratify her too much: she is dissatisfied, her customers bother her, and when she has a short break, she usually checks her ex-boyfriend’s, Tibor’s iwiw profile. The not too muscular and also slightly successful bank security guard Laci timidly squires the ingenue, Hajnalka, looking at her wistfully all the day, but the woman, passing his attention unmarked, doesn’t requite his romantic feelings. There is only one thing that can zing up Hajnalka: she often toys with the idea of a bank robbery where she would cover her pesky customers with a gun in a skiing hat. She cannot believe her eyes when her daydreams become real. In the course of the real bank robbery Laci risks her own life in trying to rescue the security of the bank and, naturally, Hajnalka, but he is shortly gotten round by the bank robbers. It is the end of the story when the robbers try to take Hajnalka hostage, but the woman laconically says no. The police breaks in on the confused robbers and while she hasn’t done anything, she deserves the title of the employee of the year for her bravery.
